Check out the upcoming offerings at the shelter!  We strive to both educate our community around animal welfare issues and offer services that will be of help to pet owners.

2021 Lunch ’N Learns   

This series is aimed at informing the community about a wide range of topics relating to the wellbeing of animals. The Lunch ‘N Learns are offered bi-monthly via Zoom from 12:00pm to 1:00pm.

These are free and open to the public, but pre-registration is required.  To sign up, please email Hannah Manley at hmanley@homewardboundanimals.org and she will provide you with the Zoom link.

2021 Rabies/Microchip Clinics

The clinics are open to both dogs and cats and are offered on Saturdays from 10:00am to 12:00pm. The following date remains:

September 25

The clinics take place at the shelter, which is located at 236 Boardman Street in Middlebury. Shelter staff asks that all dogs be on leash and cats be in carriers for this event. The service will be provided on a first come, first serve basis.

Costs: 

Rabies vaccine $10

Microchip (must be requested in advance - please call 802.388.1100) $35

Please note: If your dog/cat is up-to-date on his or her rabies vaccine, you must bring proof in the form of a rabies certificate or we will consider the vaccine given at the Homeward Bound clinic as good for 1 year only.

 

 2021 Taxi Cat Service

The Taxi Cat is a free service for cat owners looking for an affordable way to get their pets fixed.  We take monthly trips to Affectionately Cats  in Williston for affordable spay/neuter.

Taxi Cat rides fill up fast and we are usually booking 2-3 months in advance.

Call  802-388-1100 for details and to sign up for a ride!  The following 2021 dates remain: 

October 6, November 3, December 1
