Veterinary Technician

We are seeing a Veterinary Technician to join our team.  The position will provide in-house medical care to the approximately 850 animals we serve annually and will coordinate spay/neuter and other veterinary care as needed. The ideal candidate will possess strong animal handling and restraint skills, be able to administer vaccines, draw blood, perform diagnostic  testing, and have strong organizational skills.   Experience in a shelter setting or with herd health management strongly preferred. Summer Camp Counselors Needed

Homeward Bound, Addison County’s Humane Society, located in Middlebury, Vermont has several temporary job openings for humane education camp counselors.

Camp Whiskers & Wags is a growing summer camp focused on providing hands-on learning for children aged 7-10.   Successful applicants will be comfortable around animals, have experience supervising children in small group settings and a positive, compassionate attitude coupled with high energy and enthusiasm.  Applicants must be 16 years or older and be available from 8 -5 Monday-Friday during the weeks camp is in session  (August 6th – August 17th).

Part-Time Veterinarian

We are seeking a part-time veterinarian to provide weekly (1-3 hours per week) routine medical care to shelter animals.  Duties include performing wellness exams and establishing treatment plans, providing rabies vaccines, euthanasia as necessary, and supporting of shelter’s full-time vet tech in managing herd health.   Candidate must supply proof of liability insurance and be licensed in Vermont.   Please contact Jessica@homewardboundanimals.org for more information.
