Homeward Bound’s mission is to be a community-centered shelter that supports the human-animal bond through compassionate care, adoption, education, and advocacy. Check out our website! The adoption center gets busier all the time and we are expanding our community support programs. We are looking for an organizational superstar to join the team and help us grow. Processing program applications, publicizing adoptable animals, data entry, appointment scheduling, and staying centered and focused in a sometimes chaotic environment are all on the table for this position. We have full and part time options available for the right fit. If you are looking for fulfilling work, have solid computer skills, some familiarity with desktop publishing, believe customer service is an art, and love animals, send us an email to Jessica@homewardboundanimals.org explaining why this description appeals to you and how your previous job experience matches our needs.
If you are looking for a new way to apply your skills and experience, animal sheltering work may be for you. Your job will be to meet the medical needs of shelter animals and community animals enrolled in shelter programs and to support the shelter veterinarian in providing spay/neuter and other surgeries as appropriate. The position involves considerable administrative responsibilities, requires technical animal handling skills, familiarity with common small animal conditions and diseases, and the ability to work independently. It’s challenging, rewarding work and you’ll never go home at the end of the day wondering if what you do makes a difference. For a full-job description click here.
