Thank you for your interest in visiting Homeward Bound. We believe providing humane education is an important part of accomplishing our Mission and are happy to work with your group.
The shelter is a busy place and we ask that you take a moment to read our guidelines to make sure the experience of bringing your class or group to the shelter is a positive one for everyone involved.
We request that you notify us at least 2 weeks before you would like to visit so that we may schedule accordingly and have appropriate staff available to help. Due to the nature of our work with the animals, we are not able to accommodate groups on short-notice.
Tours and visits may be scheduled between 11-5 Monday-Friday. For children under the age of 10, we ask that you provide one adult chaperone for every five children. For kids 10 and up, one chaperone per 10 children is fine. We cannot accommodate groups larger than 25 and may break up large groups if the shelter is experiencing heavy traffic on the day of your tour.
To make the most of your experience here, please consider developing a list of questions about Homeward Bound and the work we do before your arrival. It can be a great way to focus the learning! We also ask that groups make a contribution to the animals for delivering at the time of the tour. Please see our Wish List for items that we are always in need of or children may raise money through lemonade stands, bottle drives, bake sales or other enterprises.
If you are interested in scheduling a tour and can comply with the above guidelines, please email firstname.lastname@example.org with your request.
