This 3 year old Husky/Malamute is sooooo sweet. He was kept on a tie out in trailer park for his young life and while his owner deeply loved him, they knew that that lifestyle wasn’t fair to Zuma. They admitted that they didn’t know how to train him and as a result Zuma needs some training. He chews inappropriately and is destructive if he is frustrated and unsupervised. He is very dog social and would love a doggy playmate, but will chase cats and livestock. He is scared of thunder, vacuums and loud noises. He is great with kids and loves to play. He will bark/alert at passing cars, people, bikes and livestock.

We think Zuma will make an amazing family dog for folks who don’t mind putting a little work into some training. He would be fine living in town or in the country.  This big fluffy guy definitely needs some work learning to take food gently and not jumping. When he gets really riled up and wants to play he can get a bit mouthy, but that behavior isn’t persistent and is easily redirected. Zuma is just a chunky guy who needs some structure, enrichment and proper exercise.
