Ms. Maddie has settled right into her new, and temporary life, here at the shelter!  She spends her days at the front desk, greeting everyone who walks into the door.  When Maddie first came to us, she was very fearful and shy.  Each day, she is making great progress and is truly beginning to show her wonderful personality!  Maddie’s previous guardians described her as active, quiet, playful and talkative.  They wrote “we loved to snuggle, hike, go on walks and play in streams together.”  Maddie really loves to lay outside almost as much as she likes to hang out on a couch- she’s perfectly fine with you calling her a couch potato.  Maddie’s favorite toy and treat is a peanut butter filled kong, she loves to go for car rides, and is great with quite a few different commands.  Maddie should be the only dog in the family, as an incident where she was bitten by another dog has made her fearful of being around them.  Maddie is allergic to poultry so potential adopters should be aware that she needs to avoid all food, including treats, which contain chicken or turkey.  Maddie is a really sweet gal who needs a patient and understanding new family to allow her the time she needs to get comfortable in a new home.  Once she does, we think she will make a great companion!
