Bitsy (female) and Marcus (male) are a bonded pair of very large 13-year old seniors. They have been indoor cats for the past 3 years and have no medical conditions that need treatment. They are faithful to their litter boxes, and have not lived with dogs or other cats other than when they were at the shelter many years ago.
Their current caretaker, Anne, reports that these cats have belonged to her mother for the past 7 years since they were adopted together from Homeward Bound at the ages of 6. Her mother recently passed away and these cats must find a home before Anne leaves the state to return to her own home.
Anne writes that Bitsy and Marcus nap a lot, but can also be silly and frisky. Like yin and yang, Marcus loves social activity, cuddling, and being the center of attention. Bitsy is the opposite, being shy and preferring her quiet, private time. They adore each other and spend their time grooming, playing and sleeping together.
Bitsy does a lot of sensing to make up for her visual impairment, and depends on Marcus for certain cues. She often has her eyes almost closed, and will hiss if startled or when she doesn’t know you. Once she gets to know you, she is a dear soul and a total snuggle bug.
Marcus is a big, friendly, easy-going cat who loves to visit with people. It feels like you are holding a small dog when he curls up in your lap.
