As crazy as it sounds poor Abileen has been stuck in shelter for almost two years! This beautiful lady was a stray and still hasn’t found her home. She has learned to play by herself and take care of herself in many ways due to being housed in shelters. It’s heartbreaking to think she has spent so long without the loving family she deserves, especially since all she wants is to be with people. She genuinely is always happy when she sees people approaching; she expresses her joy with lots of wiggles, kisses, jumping, and vocalizations.

Abi needs to be the only pet in the home and has tons of energy to spare. She’s looking for a person who will love her as unconditionally as she will love them, and who wants to share their life with an adoring dog.

Abileen LOVES to ride in the car, especially if you find yourself at a drive-thru! She is all about destroying stuffed toys and adores playing. As much as she enjoys hiking or long walks, it’s very stressful for her to see other dogs. When adventuring with Abi, sticking to remote paths is the way to go. She is seeking the country life, without the hustle and bustle populated areas can bring.

Abileen still can jump a bit when greeting, so she wouldn’t be the best dog for a family with small children. However, she is working on her training everyday and will continue to improve with the added stability and consistency that comes with a home and family. This firecracker pup is just waiting for humans to rescue her and show her what the good life is made of.
